An Advanced Guide To A Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel
With new developments in skincare constantly emerging, many people are discovering solutions to help them achieve clearer, smoother, younger-looking skin through a variety of innovative treatments. For those who are looking to correct hyperpigmentation, melasma, dark spots from sun exposure, acne scars, and freckles, a Cosmelan chemical peel is the perfect procedure to repair and restore your skin to the ideal smooth, even tone and texture of your youth.
What is a Cosmelan peel?
A Cosmelan peel is the world’s leading professional depigmentation method designed to eliminate or reduce dark spots on your skin, while unifying the skin tone and enhancing skin luminosity. The combination of corrective qualities found in the treatment make a Cosmelan peel a unique and effective solution that has an all-around corrective effect.
The formula contains an exclusive combination of active ingredients with proven results, which help correct all stages of the hyperpigmentation process to completely eliminate existing hyperpigmentation, preventing both their reappearance and the appearance of new dark spots.
Who is the ideal candidate for a Cosmelan peel?
Hyperpigmentation is a concern affecting many of our clients, and a Cosmelan peel offers an advanced approach that can be used by those with either light or dark skin tones. Skin hyperpigmentation is caused by abnormal production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color, and is a consequence of uncontrolled, localized overproduction of melanin, causing irregular skin coloration and dark spots.
A Cosmelan peel is effective in treating moderate to severe pigmentation issues and works to reduce the appearance of skin discoloration brought on by genetics, sun exposure, inflammation, hormonal changes, aging, exposure to chemicals, and photosensitizing medications.
Most common types of Hyperpigmentation
1. Melasma is characterized by gray-brown patches that appear on the face, most often in the cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin.
2. Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a condition in which an injury or inflammation to the skin causes increased pigment production.
3. Sun Spots usually appear on the face, hands, shoulders, arms, back, and neckline and are an accumulated effect of sun exposure.
4. Acne scars can come in the form of raised, flat, or depressed marks that occur after inflammation from acne.
5. Freckles, small brown spots on your skin, are the result of overproduction of melanin in your skin often found in areas that are exposed to the sun.
Studies on the effectiveness of the Cosmelan treatment have proven to show significant improvements of hyperpigmentation concerns in all skin types and in all ethnic groups. With over one million people treated, the long-term results and high levels of satisfaction have made Cosmelan the first choice among trusted skincare experts when dealing with hyperpigmentation concerns with their clients.
How does the Cosmelan treatment work?
Getting a Cosmelan Peel is relatively quick and painless, and there is no preparation required, which is appealing since many peels require the application of lotions, creams, and even bleaching agents prior to application. If you have been using any skin treatments such as those that include glycolic acid, your JTAV skincare expert may recommend stopping them for a week prior to the application of the peel. One important thing to note is that once applied, the mask has to be worn for a period of time following application and has an appearance similar to peanut butter.
After determining the best course of action for your unique concerns, the peel is applied by a JTAV Skincare expert who, strictly following the protocol, applies the desgreasing solution and face mask. This first step involves the application of a thick, peanut butter-like cream. The mask contains Azelaic Acid, Kojic Acid, Phytic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Arbutine, and Titanium Dioxide.
Once the mask has been applied you can return home, but you must avoid exposure to sources of light and heat. The mask should remain on the face for 6-10 hours, but the total amount of time depends on your skin type and the amount of hyperpigmentation being treated. At the end of the time specified by your JTAV expert, you will remove the mask at home, carefully cleansing the application area with plenty of lukewarm water. It is important that you never exceed the recommended application time.
The second step in the process is an at-home application that helps to maintain the results achieved with the Cosmelan Peel, while preventing the appearance of new dark spots and areas of hyperpigmentation. The process continues at home 48-hours after removing the mask. Your JTAV Skincare expert will give you detailed, but easy to follow instructions to follow to ensure the desired result. The complete home treatment lasts for several months and consistency is essential to ensure the guaranteed results. Following the initial treatment, the pigment will appear lighter in color, and you will begin to notice results fairly quickly which will continue to improve over the course of the treatment.
